Through history there has been little secrets and ways of enhancing beauty. Some are deadly and some are disgusting.
Here a couple of interesting ones about the ancient Egyptians.
The Egyptians would color their eyes with lead, which eventually lead to their deaths.
Beauty and cleanliness were very important to them.
All their paintings show slim beautiful faced people.
Crocodile dung and donkey's milk were used as one of Cleopatra's mask. Yuck! She also bathed in milk with rose petals for hours at a time. Wouldn't this cause the milk to curdle, since it was so hot in Egypt?
She had many other secrets, and thank goodness they were not all so gross.

Suit Up!
The first hazmat suit, which stands for 'hazardous materials suit, was the bird mask suit worn by doctors during the black plague.
Doctors were the only ones who wore these, and I found a great article on why it was worn,(below the picture.)
I think the mask is rather creepy, and the eyes of the mask were made of red glass to ward off evil, so I'm sure it looked double creepy.
One thing I always thought was weird is how such horror, it was the worse plague in history, produced the cute 'ring around the rosie' song.
ring around the rosie--spoke of the rash of the plague victim.
pocket full of posies-- people thought the flowers would ward off the illness or the smell.
ashes ashes-- they burned the bodies.
we all fall down--everyone dies.
Maybe this helped children to cope.Maybe it was the children and grandchildren of the plague survivors who lost the horror after a few generations.
All we can hope for is this never happens again, but with the world's population over 7 billion, anything could happen.

Rubber Duckie you're the one--you make bath time lots of fun
I am so glad that state legislatures in Wisconsin are working feverishly on meaningful bills and laws. I for one believe the Rubber duck law is one of the most important bills considered in the history of...well of everything. Who cares about crime, hunger, or just the poor in general. What we need is a rubber duckie law, and I applaud them for this.
The truth is that the law that is being voted for is to legalize duck races for charity. They are called the Ducktona 500 and the Lucky Ducky Derby. If this is for charity for the poor and hungry, then I believe it should pass. It's not dog fighting, so I'm not sure why this should be an issue.

PETA
I'm sorry to let everyone know that the group that you may believe is a wonderful animal activist group --is actually a cult.
They Kill almost every dog they save, and then want to put up a memorial for chickens.
There are many websites out there to find the truth about PETA, and I will put a few under the article addy.

Strange “Fairy Rings” in Seafloor Explained
A really good article on how sea grass tries to protect itself, and why it's in decline, and how that would be bad for the ocean!
